The John Lautner® Foundation — “Real Architecture” a Educational Initiative
As part of our mission and goals The John Lautner® Foundation has focused on education as a major component of what we provide to members and the public. This includes Tours, Film Screenings, Symposiums, Exhibitions and Special Events. To better coordinate these activities we have created the “Real Architecture” Educational Initiative that will steer and oversee these diverse forms of educational experiences and bring them together when needed to have a coordinated set of methods to share information to better support our education programs and their subject material.
Our Mission
“JLF Educational Initiative’s mission is to expand the understanding of Lautner’s use of fundamentals of design, though with the benefits of FLLW Principles … what those are and how that allowed Lautner to create his own organic architectural signature work, creating timeless architecture, which focuses on addressing practical and new design approaches to move into the future, expanding awareness of being one with our environment … nature and innovation.
“Addressing this mission, then, our goal is to explore the full range of Lautner’s work — The many architectural topics, research, design and construction methods related to the designs and built projects. This to provide an expanding resource on Lautner and organic architecture that addresses the many projects and designs of this period, including the methods of the time vis innovative approaches that Lautner developed. This to help us be informed and to support maintenance of his buildings, their preservation and future innovation in architecture overall.”
