Screening of Infinite Space in Glasgow

Pearlman cabin. Photo by Murray Grigor

The Lighthouse Centre for Architectural Design and the City is screening the documentary Infinite Space: The Architecture of John Lautner, by Murray Grigor, on February 21, 2009, as part of the Glasgow Film Festival. The film will also screen during the time the Hammer exhibition on John Lautner’s work is open in Glasgow, on March 29, 2009.

The exhibition will run from March 20 through July 26, 2009, and is the only European showing of this major exhibition.

Take a look at the Lighthouse website for information on these events.

Exhibit in Glasgow to open March 20

[correction 2/5/09: the Lighthouse entry is free on Saturdays, not Sundays]

We have word from David Barry, the Exhibitions Coordinator of the Lighthouse Centre in Glasgow, that the exhibit dates for the Hammer Museum traveling exhibit on John Lautner are March 20 – July 21, 2009.

Exhibit at the Hammer

Photo: Last day of the exhibit at the Hammer, Oct. 08

The exhibit’s opening night will be March 19, for a limited number of guests. John Lautner Foundation Members are invited to the opening night. Invitations will be sent in the mail. Please note this means paid members, not people who are mailing-list-only members. If you aren’t sure of your status and you plan to be in Glasgow for the opening, write to lautner (at) johnlautner (dot) org and we will look you up and let you know if you are a current member or not.

The opening night is free to those with invitations and not open to those without. Entry to the exhibit after March 19 will cost 4 pounds (approx. $6 US) every day except Saturday, when entry is free.

What are they saying?
